Melanie Collings, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac is a 2015 graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) in Newton, MA. She is a Board-certified Diplomat of Acupuncture accredited through the NCCAOM. With specialties in both addiction and autoimmune disorders, she strives to bring relief, relaxation, and a better quality of life to all patients she sees. She is also well versed in chronic pain of all types, there is not much she can’t treat. Melanie spent most of her years in Massachusetts with a short stay in scenic Vermont and Rhode Island graduating top of her class from both the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the Community College of Vermont. When asked about what led her to the field of Oriental medicine; “It’s always been a part of my life; I just began to realize its power & beauty as I grew older…”
She fell in love with Chinese Medicine while pursuing her undergraduate studies in Psychology and upon graduation wanted to continue her education to obtain her Masters in Acupuncture. Her love for nature, the healing arts and helping others in need led her to New England School of Acupuncture where she was able to work alongside brilliant practitioners and learn firsthand what it meant to alleviate pain and restore health. Studying abroad in Shenyang, China as well as Tokyo, Japan intensified her love for the Asian culture.
“Being a practitioner of both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, I see and appreciate both the beauty and efficacy of each style. I often believe less is more and so much can be accomplished without ever inserting a needle into the body. Healing begins when you come into a healing space with an open mind, an open heart, and a willingness to allow the therapeutic relationship to blossom into a trusting healthcare partnership.”
For over 15 years, Melanie has been fascinated with energy work, regularly practicing and certified in Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Cultivating energy with yoga, meditation & Reiki, she thoughtfully brings this holistic focused energetic work to her practice. Gentleness, accuracy & compassion make up every interaction she has with her clients. Making a difference in their lives is the most rewarding aspect of working so closely with the community. “There is no issue too big and no effort too small that a determined practitioner and a willing and eager patient can’t accomplish together!“
