Maha Shariff, RDN

I hold a B.S. in Food and Nutrition with an emphasis in Dietetics from Cal Poly Pomona in California. Since beginning my career in 2009, I became a Registered Dietitian in 2014, and have gained extensive experience in various areas of nutrition and dietetics.

My career began with the WIC program, where I specialized in supporting pregnant women, new mothers, young children, and postpartum women with their nutritional concerns. Over time, I expanded my practice to address the needs of the general population, including individuals managing diabetes, hypertriglyceridemia, hypertension, and other health conditions. I also have significant experience working with the geriatric population, focusing on their unique nutritional requirements.

Today, I work with a diverse group of clients, including those from Korean, Hispanic, and Indian backgrounds, addressing a wide range of medical and nutritional concerns. My approach is highly personalized, focusing on helping you customize your lifestyle habits—nutrition, exercise, and stress management—to achieve your specific health goals. Together, we’ll identify triggers, address your unique concerns, and create a plan tailored just for you.

MY PERSONAL STORY

Growing up in a Pakistani-American household in Southern California, I was immersed in a rich tapestry of cultures, languages, and cuisines. With a large, close-knit family, our gatherings were frequent and filled with a variety of delicious foods—Pakistani, Indian, Mexican, and Asian dishes were always on the table. However, the abundance of such mouthwatering options made it challenging to eat healthily, especially since I’ve always had a sweet tooth. From an early age, I struggled with portion control, and I realized how integral food was to our social settings. This realization sparked my passion for nutrition and led me to pursue a career as a dietitian.

As a wife and mother of two picky eaters, balancing a career with maintaining a healthy lifestyle has been no easy task. Finding time and energy to exercise and plan nutritious meals for my family is a daily challenge, but through determination and creativity, I’ve managed to make it work. If I can do it, I believe anyone can!
